Adaptive Coat

Made of 100% waxed cotton, this coat is designed for people with cerebral palsy, specifically with the problems of using forearm crutches in mind. Various troubles are considered and addressed in its design. Magnetic closures are used for ease of dressing, added fullness in the back allows for stretch, and arm bands allow for the sleeves to be secured to the arm.

The arm bands are anchored by 3-D printed buckles that are specifically designed to stay securely fastened but can easily be unbuckled.

This project was in collaboration with @ericandrewli, who designed the sweatshirt and pant. Both of which are focused on challenges this population may experience with clothing.
